Ok, warning. This one is a little depressing but Loki saves the day. If your not into sadness then I caution you not to read. I really don't want to offend anyone either. Welp...Here you go.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You had had enough. From the laughing faces of kids at school to the parents and siblings that were never there for you. In your mind you were all alone. You had no other family that truly understood you and you had no friends at school. School life was painfully slow as the kids talked about the shy, quiet girl who sat alone at lunch and would always sit in the back of the classroom.
Hopefully tonight, you could get away from all of the loneliness. You had left a note on the kitchen counter, saying farewell to your family for the last time. They weren't home, as usual. They had went to the movies and left you alone in your room. You didn't even realize they were gone until you ventured down for a glass of water, where they left a note on the fridge saying they would be back later. That was when you made the decision.
Suddenly, you were out the door, in your (f/c) floor length dress and running down the street. You knew where to go. The old town bridge was the only way in and out of the small town. It was always your place to escape when things were too much. It was the closest you could get from being out of the lonely town. When the sky suddenly tore open and let pouring rain soak you in seconds, you couldn't help but let out a sad echo of a broken laugh. The scene was ironic to say the least. In no time you were standing on the bridge. With a startling calmness, you walked slowly over and peered over the edge. The wide whirling creak was dangerous, more so during the new found storm, The water beneath was dark and raging, much like how your emotions currently were. You never wanted it to come to this. How DID it come to this?
Shuffling around, you sat on the concrete edge and swung your legs and your bare feet over. For a while you just sat there. Your head was tilted upwards, facing the dark sky and letting the cool rain wash down your face. Then you pushed off the ledge and squeezed your eyes shut.
The impact with the cold water sent mind numbing tingles through out your body. The current wasted no time in dragging you downwards, leading you down stream. The instinct to breathe came all to soon and you tried gulping down air, only to choke on the bitter frigid water. Your lunges burned and you tried to claw your way up for air. You had to pick the most painful way to die, didn't you?
Soon, the horrible pain in your chest built until you thought you were going to explode. However, the weight on your chest disappeared, as well as the aching in your lungs. You were left numb to the cold and the pain. You felt free. Through the small amount of energy you had left, you smiled softly, welcoming the darkness. Maybe you wouldn't feel alone anymore. Maybe you had finally escaped... The darkness finally settled.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The air was pushed forcefully back into your lungs and you lurched forward, coughing up murky dark water. You collapsed back onto your side, breathing heavily with your eyes closed. The pain in your chest had returned with vengeance and your throat felt raw. The sudden realization that you were alive and breathing brought tears to your eyes. Who in their right mind would save you of all people? You weren't anything to anyone, so why?

The second thing to register in your mind was the fact that a warm fabric was placed over you and someone was shaking you and telling you to open your eyes.  Very slowly, your (e/c) eyes fluttered open and was met with a pair of blue-green orbs. A man with shoulder length black hair was kneeling in front of you with water running off him like mini rivers. When you tried to push yourself up into a sitting position, your arms gave out beneath you. The man grabbed your waist gently to keep you from falling back to the ground. You looked at him before your eyes shifted to the fabric that lay over you. It looked like a green cape of some sort. Your confused gaze turned to the man and took in his attire. He wore green and gold armor like plates over some black leather tunic. Wet strands of raven colored hair fell in front of his face and you noticed his handsome features of high cheek bones and the noble nose. He looked like something otherworldly.

"W-who-" your voice was raspy and you cleared your throat to start again. "Who are you? Why did you save me?" The man looked down at you with an unreadable expression then gave you a soft smile. "I am Loki, of Asgard. I've been watching over you, my dear." His voice was soft and sounded like music to your ears. When his words finally caught up to you and you gave him a surprised and disbelieving look. "Watching over me? W-what? Why? I'm nobody, I-I'm pathetic-" You were cut off as you were pulled into his arms. Your (e/c)eyes widened as he placed his chin on your shoulder. This couldn't be happening, could it?

"I thought I lost you..." he murmured against your neck, sending shivers and goosebumps through-out your body. The warmth of his body caused you to snuggle deeper into him as you clutched the back of his armor.

"Why...do you care?" you whispered out. Loki leaned back to looked at you and gave you a sad smile. "You are so much more than you think you are. Trust me, I know. Your beautiful inside and out, (y/n)." The way your name rolled off his tongue made you smile as the tears finally made their way down your (s/c) cheeks. His blue-green eyes calmed you as his thumbs brushed away your tears. He stood, pulling you along with him, his arms wrapped securely around your shivering form. You looked around and noticed for the first time that the rain wasn't falling where you were standing. Both you and Loki were surrounded by rain but it seemed like a little bubble was protecting them from the depressing weather.

Loki caught on to your questioning expression, causing him to smirk. "It's called magic, my dear." You pout at him which in turn makes him chuckle. The comfortable silence was broken when sirens erupted into the night. You saw the flashing red and blue lights and knew that your parents had made it home and saw your note. You gave out a heavy sigh and turned to face Loki, only to have his lips crash into yours. Your eyes widened but quickly snapped shut, gently kissing him back. His arms snaked down and his hand pushed your lower back forward, leaving your body flushed against his. Your own arms had already latched around his shoulders, pressing against him.

When he finally broke away, he leaned his forehead against your own. The sirens were growing louder and you turned to see them racing down the street. The warmth suddenly left you, vanishing as quickly as it had came. When you turned back around Loki was no longer there. Your eyes darted around, looking for the mysterious man.

All traces of him being there was gone, including his emerald green cape that had fallen to the ground after you had stood. You felt your heart squeeze at the thought of him never really being there. The police cars stopped, turned at an angle to let the ambulance through and another small black vehicle right behind it. Paramedics rushed to you, one holding a first aid kit duffle bag and the other holding a blanket.

The blanket was soon wrapped around your shoulders as they asked you all sorts of questions about your health. However, your attention wasn't focused on them. You watched as your parents and your older sister rushed towards you, panic clear on their faces. Once you locked gazes, you were suddenly pulled into a hug that could put Thor to shame. Your father let go of you and looked you up and down while your mother cupped your face in her hands. She was crying hysterically and your sister had latched onto your arm. The rain was still coming down hard, but no one seemed to notice. Never before in your life had your family ever shown you such affection.

After the paramedics had checked you over and released you and you had convinced the police it was all a  misunderstanding, you walked towards your parents car with your family. As everyone climbed in, you opened the back passenger door only to stop and listen.

'(y/n)...You're never alone,' It was an inaudible whisper that was lost in the wind and that kissed the back of your neck. They were simple words but it was enough to set your heart alight with new found hope. It was Loki's voice, that much you were sure. Climbing in the car, you leaned back in your seat and rested your head against the window. Your face was tilted towards the sky and you placed a gentle smile on your lips.

You knew. Loki would come back for you, and that he did.
Okay, this is really depressing so I am so sorry! I was watching music videos and it inspired me to do this... Oh well. I'm not sure if I did a good job on Loki or not so I'm really nervous. Please like it guys!!! >.< also this is for Tarnisis  Thank you for being awesome! I'll try to work on another happier one to make it cute and fluffy like you want it, I swear.
